Abstract

Objective To compare the short- and long-term clinical effects of laparoscopic radical resection and open radical resection on rectal cancer. Methods A total of 150 patients with rectal cancer hospitalized in Linfen People’s Hospital from June 2016 to June 2018 were selected and divided into two groups by surgery protocols. Seventy-five patients in observation group were treated by laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer, and 75 patients in control group were treated by open radical resection of rectal cancer. The operation indexes, intraoperative and postoperative incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. The pathological data, recurrence rate and metastasis rate of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The operative time of observation group was longer than that of control group, the bleeding volume in observation group was less than that in control group, while the time of exhaust gas recovery, drainage extubation and the postoperative hospital stay in observation group was shorter than those in control group (P 0.05). Conclusions Laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer is a feasible method, which can obtain good short-and long-term curative effect similar to open surgery. Key words: Laparoscopy; Laparotomy; Rectal cancer; Clinical efficacy
