Abstract
In recent years, the range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs) have been deeply studied for its more reasonable fuel economy and driving mileage than the pure electric vehicles (EVs) and serial hybrid electric vehicles (SHEVs). The control strategies of REEVs are of vital importance in fully exertng its potential. The control strategies of REEVs can be divided into the heuristic knowledge control, global optimal control and instaneous optimal conrol. The global control can provide nearly ideal control performance. In this paper, the gloabl optimal control strategies based on dynamic programming (DP) and Pontryagin’s minimum principle (PMP) are proposed. The performance of these two control methods are analyzed and compared according to the simulation results obtained by the Matlab/Simulink.
