Abstract

To enhance the overall performance of non isolated boost converter, MIT model reference adaptive control (MRAC) scheme is used to regulate the output voltage. Average model of the boost converter is derived using state space averaging (SSA) technique and the fundamentals of the MIT MRAC are described. A second order modified reference model is derived from the actual model which adapts all the variations occurring in the input side as well as the output load. In this paper a new parameter design method for the second order reference model is proposed where only the input voltage is the varying parameter. The dynamic performance of the adaptive controller with plant and the open loop plant and the plant with H-infinity controller is compared and all the simulations results are obtained using MATLAB/ Simulink platform.
