Abstract

Charging performance of dynamic wireless chargers for electric vehicles (EVs) depends on the architecture of magnetically coupled coils. This paper aims to investigate the influence of coil's structures to charging performance. The coupling factor, output power, and system efficiency of different coil's structures are compared. First, the magnetic flux distribution of each structure is studied via finite element analysis (FEA). Then, the experimental measurement of the coupling profile is performed. Key information for designing and developing the coupled coil to improve charging performance is obtained from this paper.
