Abstract

A comparison of healthcare staffing between China and typical countries discovered the following: Generally low staffing capacity of healthcare manpower in China; irrational structuring of specialists, especially doctor-nurse ratio; irrational layout of human resources among institutions; speed of human resources education no less than developed countries. In view of these facts and line with health reform needs, the following are proposed: Develop a new plan for healthcare manpower; reinforcing nursing education; reinforcing education of grass-root healthcare personnel; integration of medical education planning with talent demands.
