Abstract

Objective To explore the current township hospitals medical work, and to propose the strategies to medical education for contributing to health labor resources in rural China. Methods The random sampling and field investigation was conducted with questionnaires to 598 medical staff among 9 township hospitals. Results Responsibility, dedication spirit, and service consciousness are the top three of the five possessed essential criteria; Clinical competence, professional operation ability, and analytic ability are the three of the six possessed key capability. To ensure safety and fulfill disease-related tasks are done for more than 80% patients among doctors’ work content and execution frequency; The top ten is all common disease, when surveying the sequence of common disease among all departments. Conclusions Nursing education should identify the special field of nursing in rural area;The curriculum should focus on community nursing; Nursing students’ career planning education should be strengthened; Rural nurses’ standardized training strategies should be established, and a team of nursing education professionals work for rural nursing improvement should be built. Fostering rural basic health humanity resources should be strengthened, medical education system needs to be perfect, practicing qualification should be strict, changing medical concept should be highlighted, and general practitioners’ training system should be estab-lished.
