Abstract

ABSTRACTPolycrystalline yttrium iron manganites – YMn1-xFexO3 (with x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.15, 0.20) were synthesized by ceramic method and sol-gel auto-combustion method. XRD confirmed the formation of hexagonal phase in all samples. The hexagonal a– and c- parameters for the samples prepared by the sol-gel method are found to be closer to the stoichiometric values. The room temperature frequency variation of electrical properties such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity showed a dispersive behavior for all the samples. The values of dielectric constant and dielectric loss are found to be lower for the sol-gel prepared samples.
