Abstract
The present paper has proposed to analyze two repro ductive systems in swine breeding: natural service and artificial insemination and to estimate their economic efficiency, having as main objectiv e their comparison. There were calculated technical indicat ors: total number of parturitions, fecundity index, natural service (artificial insemination)\sow/year, pigs bo rn alive/sow/year, pigs born alive/parturition, wea ned pigs/parturition, weaned pigs/sow/year, mortality i ndex/sow/year, mortality index/parturition, and the main economic indicators: cost/sow, cost/pregnancy, cost /weaned pig, cost/natural service (artificial insem ination) in the two reproductive systems. The two categories of primary data were statistically remade and there w ere concluded the results. Following analyze, the resul ts were positive and also negative for the differen t indicators in both systems. After all, we consider that the be st solution from the economic point of view and als o for the animal breeding is to use the artificial inseminati on, but within a special laboratory, at its maximum capacity for recovering its payment.
