Abstract
Abstract In this work, the internal pressure of the composite pipe is analysed and studied when transporting liquid or gas. The quasi-static hydraulic test is designed to simulate the internal pressure of the composite pipe. By using the ABAQUS finite element method, a numerical model of the composite pipe under hydraulic load is established. The strain curves and final failure modes of the test and simulation are compared to verify the feasibility of the finite element method model. Finally, the damage mechanism of the composite tube is analysed according to the numerical model, and it is found that the carbon fibre composite material has an important effect on the bearing capacity of the composite tube.
