Abstract
In this paper, a comparative analysis of Kesterite absorber layer based solar cell is discussed. Kesterites are considered as non-toxic, earth abundant, low cost material which can be used as p- type absorber layer for solar cell applications. They have direct band gap that can be tuned between 1.0 eV to 1.5 eV by altering Selenium to Sulphur ratio. The relation of S-Se ratio to the band gap and impact of it on the performance of solar cell is analyzed. The solar cell structures are discussed in this paper using ZnO/CdS/(CZTSe/CZTSSe/CZTS)/Mo structure, where CZTSe/CZTSSe/CZTS is used as absorber layer, Cadmium sulphide (CdS) as buffer layer, Zinc oxide (ZnO) as window layer and Molybdenum (Mo) as back contact. Besides this, comparison in terms of conversion efficiency and fill factor are also discussed to analyze the performance of solar cell with alteration in contents of the absorber layer. The outcome of above depth discussion of CZTS/CZTSe/CZTSSe material as absorber layer helps in selection of best material for high performance solar cell applications.
