Abstract
Objective To compare and analyze the clinical effects of Nuss operation and modified Ravitch operation in treatment of children with funnel chest. Methods Seventy children with funnel chest from June 2012 to June 2015 were taken as the research objects, and 35 patients were treated with the Nuss operation as the N group, while the other 35 patients were treated with the modified Ravitch operation as the R group. Then, the operation time, bleeding volume, length of incision, hospitalization time and the incidence of complications of two groups were observed and compared. Results The operation time, blood loss, incision length and hospitalization time of patients in the N group were significantly less than those in the R group, and the difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusions The clinical effects of Nuss operation and modified Ravitch operation in treatment of children with funnel chest are both good enough, and the Nuss surgery can bring less damage to the patients, and the treatment should be chosen according to the hospital’s own conditions. Key words: Nuss operation; Modified Ravitch operation; Children with funnel chest
