Abstract

A compact dual-band MIMO antenna with high isolation for 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G, Wi-MAX and WLAN applications is proposed. The proposed MIMO antenna system consists of two monopole radiating elements designed to operate over 2.4 and 5.2 GHz bands. High isolation is achieved by using isolation techniques such as parasitic element (PE), extended ground plane (EGP) and two ground slots (GS). S 11 12 < −24 dB over the lower band and S12 < −27 dB over the higher band. Envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) and diversity gain are also investigated. The ECC of the antenna is less than 0.002 and 0.02 over the lower and higher operating band respectively. The antenna has stable radiation patterns. Thus the proposed antenna is a good candidate for portable wireless devices.
