Abstract

In this paper, a dual-band MIMO antenna for WLAN applications is presented. The overall size of the proposed antenna is very compact as only $11\times 32\text{mm}^{2}$ , The antenna element consists of a L-shaped driven strips on the top and an inverted L-shaped slots on the ground. A decoupling slot is also introduced between two antenna elements to improve the isolation. The simulated results are studied and the measured results show that the −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 2.2–2.48 GHz and 5.45–5.9 GHz for WLAN are obtained and high isolation of more than 20 dB at the entire operating bands is achieved. Furthermore, the measured radiation performances and envelope correlation coefficient also demonstrate that the proposed antenna could be a good candidate for WLAN systems.
