Abstract

A novel design of dual frequency low-profile substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) slot antenna is examine in this article. The proposed antenna design consists of semi-ring loop radiator, square SIW cavity and shorting pin. The semi-ring loop radiating slot etched on broad wall of square SIW cavity to work as dual frequency of operation and shorting pin improve the impedance matching. The proposed antenna slot radiates the electromagnetics wave over the 10 dB impedance band 7.0 GHz–7.14 GHz and 8.76 GHz–8.83 GHz respectively with gain and efficiency are more than 4.89 dB and 96% in impedance bands. The proposed antenna has low profile, high gain, and good radiation efficiency with high FTBR.
