Abstract

This paper proposes a compact circular polarization microstrip antenna with left-hand circular polarization property (LHCP) for wireless communications system (U-NII 5 GHz band) at 5.7 GHz. In this design, the insertion feed is used to improve the bandwidth and input impedance of the antenna. A designed tapered-slot can act as the second signal source to remove the need of the external second signal source. The axial ratio (∼2) and the radiation pattern results prove that the designed antenna meet the criteria of left-hand circular polarization property (LHCP).
