Abstract
This paper is based on the findings of an evaluation of a community work project in a multi-ethnic housing estate in Villawood, N.S.W. 1987–1988. Analysis of the work reveals the importance of extensive personal contacting and ethnic specific work, before attempts are made to organise cross cultural groups which can work on common issues.
