Abstract

Background: Malnutrition is a leading cause of childhood mortality worldwide in children under 5 years. While many efforts have been made to address malnutrition, with varying success, few have tried a community garden approach. Objective: To determine if the introduction of a community garden with concurrent education on plant care/proper diet affects the rate of malnutrition and food security in a rural Filipino village.
