Abstract

The cyclical turnover of university students doesn't make for the ideal environment for building a lasting sense of community. Student Branch (SB) leaders rotate, areas of study change, and students transfer to and from other institutions, all leading to a consistent state of flux. Most SBs would like nothing more than to build and maintain a close relationship among SB members and the local society. Unfortunately, it's a bond that can't be formed simply by providing a couple of free slices of Papa John's and a six-pack of Mountain Dew.
