Abstract

When it comes to defining leadership, the great debate rages on: Are leaders born or made? For Old Dominion University (ODU) in Norfolk, Virginia, leadership skills have been both in its DNA and enhanced over time. Founded at the beginning of the Great Depression, ODU has thrived and grown into its moniker of the ?Monarchs.? In 2013, the school?s Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology celebrated its 50th anniversary of bringing groundbreaking research and technology to the region, and ODU?s IEEE Student Branch (SB) has been thriving since 1989.
