Abstract

The article aims to demonstrate how communication and information technologies contribute to the teaching of Portuguese in a public school in Santo Estevão - BA. The methodology permeated by qualitative research was adopted through field research and bibliographical study and legislative documents, in addition to authors who address ICT. It was verified in the results through the interviews collected in the field, that the Technologies of the Information and Communication (ICT), make possible to the student the direct contact with the globalization. It can also be used as a methodological resource, enabling the teacher to use it as a new tool in the teaching-learning process. Therefore, it is expected that educational practices seek to overcome the inconveniences regarding the handling of technological equipment and enable an education focused on the formation of the human being, preparing him to live in a society that lives in constant transformations, and that does not ignore the reality of all. those who are inserted in their social and historical context.
