Abstract

Ceres’ SteelCell® technology is establishing itself as the global standard for SOC. The technology is rapidly moving to volume production, with Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany and Doosan Fuel Cell in South Korea having licenses to manufacture Ceres SteelCell® cells and stacks at the hundreds of MW per year scale. Ceres SteelCell® technology has multiple power generation applications ranging from small scale <10kWe combined heat and power (CHP) systems to 100s of kW to MWs. An increasing area of interest for the application of Ceres SteelCell® technology is the marine sector operating efficiently on a range of low-carbon fuels including liquefied natural gas (LNG), methanol and liquid ammonia, as well as hydrogen. This is also driving development of systems in the MW range. An exciting new development is the application of Ceres SteelCell® technology to steam electrolysis. Ceres has recently signed an agreement with Shell to operate a 1MW-class electrolyzer in Bangalore, India, running for 3 years from 2023.
