Comments on “Volumetric, acoustic and IR spectroscopic properties of binary mixtures (1,2-diaminopropane + methyl-, ethyl-, n-propyl- and n-butyl acetates: A combined experimental and first-principles investigation”

Abstract

A polemic is given regarding the volumetric properties reported in the published by Parmar and coworkers. The authors’ calculated partial molar volumes and partial molar excess volumes of the individual mixture components are both found to be thermodynamically inconsistent with the respective excess molar volumes of the four binary systems containing 1,2-diaminopropane and alkyl acetates (methyl acetate, ethyl acetate, propyl acetate and butyl acetate).
