Abstract

A polemic is given regarding the published mathematical representations that Rajalakshmi and coworkers [Chem. Data Collect. 30 (2020) 100,561/1–100,561/14] reported in their paper to describe the measured densities and speeds of sounds, as well as the calculated excess molar volumes and excess isentropic compressibilities, of binary mixtures of benzylamine with either tetrahydrofuran, 2-methyltetrahydrofuran, 1,3-dioxolane and 1,4-dioxane. The published mathematical representations were found to not back-calculate the measured experimental data and thermodynamic excess properties based upon the fore-mentioned experimental values.
