Digestive and Liver Disease. 2013; 45: 58-62 Abstract Full Text Full Text PDF Scopus (18) Google Scholar ], with great interest, that investigated whether serum osteopontin (OPN) concentrations are associated with liver histology in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). In their univariate analysis, they found that serum OPN levels were significantly associated with portal inflammation, which suggests that OPN represents a novel and powerful biomarker for NAFLD.
