Abstract
Trichoscopy has gained popularity as a valuable tool in the differential diagnosis of hair and scalp disorders. Nevertheless, as a diagnostic procedure, trichoscopy is to be understood as representing an integral part of a more comprehensive dermatological learning to include a stringent nosological classification based on a pathogenic understanding and proper nomenclature. This particularly holds true for red scalp that represents an entity in it own right characterized by teleagiectatic erythema of the scalp.
