Abstract

Recently, a new paper1 entitled “A 0.3-V, 2.4-nW, and 100-Hz fourth-order LPF for ECG signal Processing” (https://doi.org/10.1002/cta.2839) was published in Int. J. of Circuit Theory and Applications. In this paper, the authors describe a fourth-order biopotential filter for ECG applications, which is based on a new (in their opinion) low-voltage bulk-driven voltage follower. The authors devoted an entire section to describe the proposed follower. I would like to inform the authors and other readers that this voltage follower is not new. It was first proposed and described in detail in Kulej and Blakiewicz.2 Next, it was used as a part of class AB output stage and validated experimentally in Kulej and Khateb.3
