Abstract
New comb-like LC polymers have been synthesized: polysiloxanes with cyandiphenyl mesogenic groups, attached to the polymer backbone by means of flexible fragments of various chemical nature. All these polymers form LC phases of smectic type, while the melting temperature of the mesophase depends on the MM of the polymer, and to a considerable degree also on the chemical nature of the flexible binders.
