Abstract

Colorectal perforations in neonates with anorectal malformations (ARM) are rarely reported. Two cases, one each with a low and high ARM is presented. Delayed patient presentation and "closed-loop" intestinal obstruction seem to be possible causes of perforation in these cases. Both patients survived following surgical intervention. The pertinent literature is reviewed to emphasize the overall management of such cases.
