Abstract

Abstract Potatoes were planted 25 Apr on the University of Idaho experiment station near Kimberly. The soil type was Portneuf silt loam and surface irrigation was used. In Test 1, individual plots were 4 rows wide (12 ft) by 25 ft long. An untreated control and 5 treatments were replicated 3 times in a randomized complete block design. Insecticides were applied with a CO2-pressurized sprayer- at 30 psi using 50 gal finished spray/acre. Pretreatment and posttreatment counts of larvae and adults were taken by counting the stages visible on the plants by walking the length of the plot. Populations were 99% larvae. Test 2 was applied as in Test 1 except that the plots consisted of only 1 row and adults were 21% of the population.
