Abstract
Color constancy is considered to be as the building block for computer vision applications, because color perception may vary based on type of illumination present in the scene. It's well known that human visual system has very efficient color constancy, so it was used as a source of inspiration for some color constancy algorithms. In this survey we present the most recent advances in color constancy models which inspired by the primate visual system. The primate visual system use many functionalities such as, retina adaptation, single opponent cells and double opponent cells, all these functionalities are considered as the basic elements used to achieve color constancy.
