Abstract

Emission of HgBr (B–X) band system and atomic mercury lines have been observed during collisions of N2(A) with HgBr2 and also with CH3HgBr molecules. On the basis of intensity of the most intense band, (0, 22) of the HgBr (B–X) transition, the efficiency ratio of the HgBr (B-state) formation due to N2(A)+HgBr2 with respect to N2(A)+CH3HgBr collisions has been determined to be 2.3:1.
