Abstract

Abstract Emission spectra of the HgBr (B 2∑−X 2∑) band system and atomic mercury lines have been observed during collisions of HgBr2 and Ne+ ions at different laboratory kinetic energies. By using the integrated intensity of the most intense band of HgBr (B 2∑, vt′ = 0; X 2∑, v″ = 22) transition at 502 nm, emission cross-sections have been measured at different laboratory kinetic energies of Ne+ ions.
