Abstract

Isodeformation contours obtained from collective model calculations, from the NpNn scheme and from a schematic F-spin invariant interacting boson model are compared with empirical systematics in the 50<or=Z<or=82, 82<or=N<or=126 shells. The comparison shows the relationships among these different approaches and their respective advantages and limitations.
