Abstract
The mass transfer in the reactions 132Xe-120Sn and 86Kr-166Er is studied quantum mechanically within the fragmentation theory. A time-dependent Schrodinger equation for the mass asymmetry degree of freedom with a potential calculated along the classical trajectory is solved. The influence of nuclear shell structure and its damping by temperature on the mass transfer is discussed.
