Abstract

SUMMARY This article attempts to touch on very practical aspects of developing and maintaining instructional materials for the curriculum materials center. The main focus of the article is a description of the many activities and issues the instructional materials librarian has to attend to as he/she builds and manages collections that support teacher education programs. The author presents a brief discussion of basic activities the librarian undertakes before selecting instructional materials, while selecting the materials, and after the materials are acquired. The article also includes a short description of the different types of instructional materials that are often selected for the curriculum materials center.
