Abstract
Optical passive ring-resonator gyro (OPRG) has been studied as a scheme to reduce the length of the sensing loop as well as to realize the linearity with wide dynamic range[1]- [6]. The OPRG needs a high coherence source to get a high finesse resonance. On the contrary, the fiber gyro requires the low coherence source to reduce the parasitic noises. Thus, the noise behavior in the OPRG is quite different from the fiber gyro. We have already discussed the behaviour of the noise sources in the OPRG, e.g., source coherence[1]-[2], Rayleigh backscattering[1]-[2], Kerr effect[3], and polarization problem[4].
