Abstract
The spin-rotational relaxation was observed to be contributing to the relaxation of proton spins in cubic phases of solid ammonium iodide. Below the cubic-tetragonal phase transition the magnetization decay becomes non-exponential. It was analysed into cubic and tetragonal component each approaching equilibrium with the lattice at a rate determined by its own T 1.
