Abstract
A cell model for void coalescence for ductile damage in metals is presented. The basic mechanism is void linking through an instability in the intervoid ligament. The model treats the average void and intervoid ligament behavior after the onset of the instability. The model can be used for the porosity evolution and point of fracture. Practical numerical models for hydrocode use are developed.
