Abstract

The design of total VOCs oxidation industrial unit in the treatment of industrial effluents requires studies at pilot or semi-pilot scales. However, a semi-industrial pilot needs large amounts of catalyst to function, few hundred grams to several kilograms, which requires the ability to translate the laboratory synthesis methods on a larger scale. Moreover, the catalyst must be shaped, what may cause modifications of the physico-chemical properties. A mixed oxide CoAlCe was developed at the laboratory. Studies have shown that this material is a suitable catalyst concerning the VOCs total oxidation, especially for BTEX and oxygenated compounds. In order to validate its effectiveness in the semi-pilot scale, this work concerns the feasibility of scaling up the synthesis and the shaping on a 100g batch of mixed oxide CoAlCe.
