Clusters containing carbene ligands. 7. Preparation of Os3(CO)8[C(H)NMe2](.mu.3-S)(.mu.-H)2 and the nature of its reactions with secondary and tertiary amines

Abstract

Os 3 (CO) 9 (μ 3 -CO)(μ 3 -S) and Os 3 (CO) 10 (μ-SPh)(μ-H) react with NMe 3 to yield the complex Os 3 -(CO) 8 [C(H)NMe 2 ](μ 3 -S)(μ=H) 2 . Os 3 (CO) 10 (μ-CNMe 2 )(μ-H) was found to react with H 2 S. Compound was analyzed by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and contains a secondary (dimethylamino) carbene ligand terminally coordinated to a sulfur-bridged triosmium cluster
