Abstract

Abstract Two compounds [Cu(biim)]2(TEA)2[HPW12O40]·H2O (1); [Cu(im)2](im)[H2PMo12O40] (2), (biim = 2,2′-biimidazole, im = imidazole, TEA = triethylamine) have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, XPS, XRD, UV-Vis, fluorescent spectra analysis, elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, cyclic voltammetric measurement and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that compounds 1–2 represent new examples formed by polyoxoanions, transition metal coordination complexes (TMCs) and organic amines. Compound 1 exhibits a 3-D supermolecular structure of which layers A and C are stacked alternatively, while compound 2 first shows a 1-D chain structure with an –A↑–A↓–A↑–A↓ linking mode, then along a, b and c axis, respectively exhibits different beautiful 2-D supramolecular networks via hydrogen bond interactions. The photodegradation properties of compounds 1–2 have been investigated.
