Clinical study of angle kappa characteristic after strabotomy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the angle kappa characteristic before and after strabismus surgery for finding regular pattern between angle kappa and stereo-visual function.Methods Retrospective study of angle kappa in 46 eyes of 31 cases with horizontal strabismus before and after strabismus surgery.We try to analyze the difference between numerical datas in two situations and contrast the angle kappa in cases of stereo-vision and non-stereovision with t-test of measurement data.Results All cases got less angle kappa post-operation and seem significant difference with the data before operation.(t1 =1.72,P1 =1.03;t2 =1.44,P2 =1.04 ; t3 =1.56,P3 =0.03).The angle kappa of cases with better stereovision showed no difference to others.Conclusion As a anatomy basic data of less degree angle kappa after strabismus surgery,it seems no corresponding relationship with stereo-vision.
