Abstract

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of bilateral SO tendon-expander for the patients with A- pattern strabismus. Methods 11 patients were treated with the SO tendon-expander surgery. Pre-and post-operative eye positions,A-Pattern Strabismus and binocular visual function were analyzed .Results 11 cases ,per-operative A-Pattern average 19.27 △±7.50 △; The difference in horizontal strabismus between up and downgaze average 3.67 △±3.28 △; A- pattern strabismus improved average 20.64 △±4.97 △, There were significant differences(P<0.001 ) ;no patient had A-V pattern strabismus postoperatively, 6 patients had binocular visual function, 2 patients had stereopsis .Conclusions SO tendon-expander surgery are effective approach for the patients with the SO overaction and A-pattern strabismus; SO tendon-expander surgery is better for the treatment of mild to-moderate superior oblique overaction, A- pattern strabismus and the patients with binocular visual function.
