Abstract
Hepatoprotectors occupy a special place in the treatment of hepatobiliary disease. This group of drugs of different origin, which action is directed at restoring homeostasis in hepatocytes, enhance body resistance to the effects of pathogenic factors, and normalization of the functional activity of stimulating reparative and regenerative processes in liver. Owing to such effects hepatoprotectors used for liver diseases, the pathology of the internal organs, complicated liver damage, as well as a method of medical cover using drugs affecting the liver. The review presents classification, mechanisms of action of hepatoprotectors, clinical pharmacology herbal drugs, animal origin, drugs containing essential phospholipids and other.drugs and safety of hepatoprotectors.
