Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of ropivacaine and lidocaine mixture subconjunctival injection for the treatment of the injury of cornea caused by compound lidocaine cream during the plastic and cosmetic surgery. Methods Sixty-four eyes of 32 cases with injury of cornea caused by compound lidocaine cream were treated with topical anesthesia and subconjunctival injection of ropivacaine firstly and then lidocaine mixture.The efficacy was observed. Results The symptom of inflammation disappeared within 48 h in 42 eyes of 21 cases (68.78%) and within 49-72 h in 22 eyes of 11 cases (31.22%). The visual acuity was not influenced, the conjunctiva mixed congestion disappeared, corneal epithelium was repaired completely and corneal fluorescein staining was negative. There was no complication. All cases were healed. Conclusion Ropivacaine and lidocaine mixture subconjunctival injection is effective for the injury of cornea caused by compound lidocaine cream.
