Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of N-acetyl cysteine in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Methods 60 cases of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in the outpatient of our hospital were randomly divided into control group and observation group, 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with prednisone, and the observation group was treated with N-acetyl cysteine combined with prednisone. After 6 months of treatment, compared the clinical efficacy of the two groups. Results After treatment, the level of PaO2 and diffusion capacity of carbon monoxide of the observation group [(10.3±0.72) mmHg, (73.6±4.7) ml•kPa-1/s] were better than those of the control group, the total effective rate of the observation group was better than that of the control group [90.0% (27/30) vs. 60.0% (18/30)], with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion N-acetyl cysteine combined with prednisone has significant clinical effect in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, can effectively improve the adverse symptoms of patients, worthy of clinical promotion.
