Abstract

Objective To observe the clinical effect of TCM syndrome differentiation nursing on cervical spondylotic radiculopathy through a randomized controlled trial. Methods A randomized controlled clinical trial was conducted to collect 100 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy who met the inclusion criteria from October 2017 to March 2018, who were randomly divided into control group and treatment group. The control group dropped 3 cases, a total of 47 cases completed the study, the treatment group dropped 5 cases, a total of 45 cases completed the study. The control group was given routine drug therapy and routine nursing, while the treatment group was given TCM syndrome differentiation nursing technology on the basis of oral routine medicine. All patients were followed up for 3 months. VAS score, NDI index score, and overall efficacy were evaluated. Results (1) The VAS score of the control group was (7.57±1.26) before treatment and (5.15±1.21) after treatment, the VAS score of the treatment group was (7.76±1.40) before treatment and (3.98±1.40) after treatment. The VAS scores of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the VAS scores of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). (2) The NDI index of the control group was (66.77±12.53) before treatment and (42.78±11.56) after treatment, while that of the treatment group was (65.87±11.37) before treatment and (31.40±10.17) after treatment. The NDI index of the two groups after treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the NDI index of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group after treatment (P<0.05). (3) The total effective rate of the control group was 78.7%, while that of the treatment group was 93.3%. Compared with the control group, the total effective rate of the treatment group was higher, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion Comprehensive nursing based on syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine is effective for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, which can significantly improve the symptoms of cervical pain and cervical dysfunction in patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, can be widely used in clinical practice.
