Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical effects with iris location combined wave-fiont guided laser-assised subepithelial keratomileusis(LASEK)in the treatment of myopia. Methods Iris location combined wave-front aberration guided LASEK was performed in 39 patients(78 eyes)as experimental group, and traditional LASEK was performed in 41 patients(82 eyes)as control group. The therapeutic effects were compared between two groups. Results At 6 months postoperatively, the naked vision of all patients in two groups surpassed the preoperative best corrected visual acuity of each group. The poswperative naked vision of 29 eyes(37.18%)in experimental group and 16 eyes(19.51%)in control group were higher at least one line than the preoperative best corrected visual acuity. The experimental group was obviously better than control group(P <0.01).The remainder astigmatism postoperatively of 31 eyes(39.74%)in experimental group and 17 eyes(20.73%)in control group were within ± 0.5D.The experimental group was obviously better than control group(P<0.01).The root mean square of higher order aberration value were(0.537± 0.31)μ m in experimental group and(0.715± 0.43)μ m in control group. The root mean square of higher order aberration value in experimental group was less than that in control group at 6 months postoperatively(P <0.05).Total higher order aberration value of experimental group added 21.60% and control group added 38.88%.The increase of total higher order aberration in experimental group was less than that in control group(P <0.01).There were 76 eyes (97.44%)in experimental group and 74 eyes(90.24%)in control group feeling comfortable with visual quality at 6 months postoperatively(P <0.05).Conclusion Good therapeutic effects can be achieved in iris location combined wave-front aberration guided LASEK in the treatment of myopia. Key words: iris location; wave-front aberration; laser subepithelial keratomileusis; myopia
