Abstract

Objective To compare the effects of capecitabine combined with oxaliplatin and oxaliplatin monotherapy on patients with advanced colon cancer. Methods One hundred and thirty cases of advanced colon cancer were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 65 cases in each group.Patients in observation group were given capecitabine combined with oxaliplatin therapy, and patients in control group were given oxaliplatin alone. The efficacy,KPS function scores before and after treatment, survival time,1.5 year mortality and adverse reactions were observed,in order to evaluate the effects of the two treatment methods. Results There were 9,22,26,8 patients with complete remission(CR),partial response (PR),stable (SD),deterioration (PD) in the observation group, respectively. The total effective rate was 47.69%,disease control rate was 87.69 %,compared to the control group (29.23% and 67.69%),there were significant differences(P < 0.05).The survival time was significantly longer than that in control group,1.5 year mortality was significantly lower than that in control group (P < 0.05).There were no significant differences in KPS function scores before and after treatment and incidence of adverse reactions (P > 0.05).Conclusions Compared with oxaliplatin alone, capecitabine combined with oxaliplatin in the treatment of advanced colon cancer can significantly improve the efficacy and outcomes,it is worthy promoting in clinics. Key words: Chemotherapy; Tumor; Colon cancer; Oxaliplatin ; Capecitabine
