Abstract

Infants with persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) are uncommon and hence most clinicians have little experience of the condition. A range of interventions have been employed although most have not been subject to rigorous appraisal. This article describes an overall strategy of care and reviews the more specific therapeutic options available.
